Kelly Stephen

I am a NYS certified Elementary School Teacher with 26 years of experience teaching in diverse, urban elementary classroom settings. Writing and implementing effective standards-based lesson plans while using engaging strategies is one of my strengths. I am adept in analyzing data and using daily observation skills to differentiate the curriculum so I am able address the various needs of students. I have the ability to implement classroom management techniques to create a conducive environment best suited for social-emotional and academic growth. I am flexible and am able to collaborate cooperatively with all levels of school staff. Teaching the whole child is my priority and one way I do this is to regularly communicate with families by phone calls, app messaging, emails, and in-person conversations. My passion is to teach students the joy of learning.
