I am an experienced, focused and detail-oriented and certified coding and auditing specialist. Currently I have been a Lead Inpatient Coder the past 10 months. Preceeding my current position, I was an Inpatient Internal auditing professional for 2 years and Inpatient coding specialist with 30 years of vast coding experience in the inpatient coding field of Health Information Management. My experience includes 13 years in hospital DRG coding assignment, abstracting, denial reviews and clinical review of concurrent records. Following my in hospital employment, I completed several years of travel with the following 12 years of coding with extensive contract and remote work endeavors for a variety of learning and trauma/teaching facilities . I possess extensive training, knowledge and efficiency in ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS coding guidelines, rules and regulations and application of these skills in the hospital setting. Organized and orderly professional with a deep understanding of medical terminology, disease processes, and coding systems. I possess the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and ensure all codes are correctly assigned following regulatory guidelines. As a DRG integrity specialist, I am a coding/auditing professional who performs a secondary level review of medical records and code assignment using knowledge of Accuity technology and client systems, along side a physician, in accordance with federal coding regulations and guidelines, as well as client specific coding guidelines to ensure accurate DRG assignment. I am responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the diagnosis-related group (DRG) assignment, and to review all CC/MCCs are captured per official coding guidelines for maximum reimbursement for our clients
