As an IP coding leader, I perform the following daily duties:

• I assign and monitor IP coding work queues.
• I assign high dollar accounts to coders per client guidelines.
• I review and complete numerous work queues for our assigned facilities.
• Perform monthly and new hire coding audits with follow up education for maintaining high quality standards per official coding guidelines.
• Support IP coders by responding to coder questions, requests for coding assistance, also help with software issues.
• Foster an environment of open communication and camaraderie amongst the coding staff and leaders to invoke an environment of professionalism and respect.
• Complete all other duties assigned by management.
• Mentor new/junior coders, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the coding team for enhanced productivity.
• Maintain high coding standards by adhering to industry best practices and staying current with emerging technologies.
• Resourcefully use ICD-10-CM Official Coding Handbook, Coding Clinics, and on-line encoder.

• Providing Inpatient coding auditing as well as ED coding auditing in a hospital setting for various facilities in a contract support atmosphere. Auditing services provided as well as feedback and educational direction as needed for Trauma/Teaching Hospital system with several campuses with all types of coding support in the inpatient setting and as well as ED support audits. All audits are performed in a timely manner in accordance with all ICD-10-CM & ICD-10-PCS coding guidelines for coding and reporting.

• Provide inpatient coding support to facilities in need of coding support. Carefully and skillfully coding of disease and injury diagnoses, sequencing of diagnosis and procedures for accurate DRG assignment consistently by ensuring proper coding of all documentation and reports available to apply correct and appropriate ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS codes for accuracy, appropriateness and specificity as well as in a timely, professional and ethical manner as directed by official ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS coding guidelines. Auditing as a support for the facility I am currently supporting as an inpatient coder. I am auditing other Excite coders for the same facility in a supportive role.

As a DRG integrity specialist, I am a coding/auditing professional who performs a secondary level review of medical records and code assignment using knowledge of Accuity technology and client systems, along side a physician, in accordance with federal coding regulations and guidelines, as well as client specific coding guidelines to ensure accurate DRG assignment. I am responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the diagnosis-related group (DRG) assignment, and to review all CC/MCCs are captured per official coding guidelines for maximum reimbursement for our clients
