● Coordinate the program using sound management concepts and practices.
● Implement the policies, and procedures of the District and the Discovery Club. Actively support District and Discovery Club goals
● Develop staff assignments and meeting agendas; lead meetings.
● Provide work direction to program staff; provide feedback on staff observations.
● Within the budget, purchase goods and services, including busing, food, supplies,and field trips and track spending.
● Enroll children based on maintaining appropriate student/staff ratios.
● Provide site leadership to program staff in behavior guidance and disciplinary action.
● Communicate effectively with staff and school personnel, with agencies, and with children and their parents/guardians who represent a wide range of social, economic, racial, and ethnic groups.
● Serve as a liaison person between Discovery Club and other school district staff and programs; prepare reports as requested.
● Assist with program activities (e.g., Parent/Teacher Organization meetings, OpenHouses, School Fair, and related activities).
● Assist with recruiting, interviewing and recommending individuals for employment.
● Assist with coordinating large non-school day sites; develop programming and staffing plans for that site.
● Coordinate child accountability and supervision of children procedures in order to track student whereabouts at all times and ensure appropriate supervision of children.
● Follow and coordinate the established Nutrition Services procedures,
● Implement accommodations for students with special needs and modify activities as needed to ensure respectful inclusion.
● Responsible for training new teachers as a Master Teacher.
● Implement Primrose Balanced Learning Curriculum and prepare daily lesson plans in literature, math, writing, science, art and life skills.
● Write and distribute weekly newsletter updates to parents.
● Design two theme-related bulletin boards monthly.
● Complete monthly student assessments and present results to parents bi-annually.
● Collect work samples in math, science, literature and writing for progress reports.
