Pulmonary Thoracic Care Unit: Lung cancer Disease-Specific Care Certified Unit

• Provide patient care, preform assessments, and implement interventions in a 27-bed unit consisting of postsurgical and intermediate care patients (1:3 ratio).
• Early recognition of patient deterioration and appropriate escalation of care. Deliver advanced life support in critical situations.
• Manage and administer patient medications, IV drips and oxygen
• Assist physicians with emergent procedures.
• Precept new graduate and experienced nurses.
• Manage admissions, discharges, & transfers, supervise the unit, delegate tasks and support staff during charge nurse shifts.
