  • Surgical first assist, endoscopic vein harvest, endoscopic radial artery harvest, inpatient care including critical care, outpatient care, APPs 1st call for department, involved in hiring process, on-boarding and training for CT Surgery APP’s, developed training program with learning objectives and schedule for onboarding CT Surgery APP’s, maintain quality data on all cardiac surgery patients, established handoff process from OR to ICU, wrote Cardiac Surgery Discharge Guidelines and Instructions packet for patients, worked on improvement project for Epic flow and order sets for Cardiothoracic Surgery specialty prior to and after launch of Epic for the Central Texas region, led an improvement project for OR start time (Toyota Lean A3), implemented a preop screening process to identify postop needs in the hospital and after discharge, created many processes to improve efficiency and communication between departments involved with Cardiothoracic Surgery, increased documentation of diagnosed-related groups (DRG’s) improving revenue on inpatient billing, presented multiple times at community events regarding cardiac surgery, spoke live on KXAN’s Saturday morning health segment regarding minimally invasive cardiac surgery, present at the General Tumor Board, left CT Surgery for an International Medicine job I was chosen for then returned when the International Medicine program was dissolved due to a change in the organization’s strategic plan.
