After high school, I joined the military in response to 9/11/2001. I was trained in explosives and construction. I was a Corporal at the end of my service, so I had experience in leading a team. I then started working at a cheerleading gym where I coached competitive cheer and tumbling. As my son got older, I needed a more stable job with dependable hours so I moved into daycare. At The Children's Courtyard, a Child was injured entering the building, causing her to need to be transported by ambulance. This is what spurred my interest in emergency medicine. I moved back to my hometown of Douglass, TX and started EMT school. After obtaining my EMT basic certification, I started working in EMS. Eventually, I moved to Beaumont to further my career. After moving back from Beaumont to be closer to family, I applied at Nacogdoches County EMS. While waiting to hear from them, I worked for the City of Nacogdoches as an animal control officer. After receiving a call saying there was a position open at NCOEMS, I took the position. After several years, I became a relief supervisor for my shift and still diligently work to provide excellent care to our community.
