Possessing strong interpersonal skills and compassionate nature, well-suited for providing exceptional patient care. Knowledge in patient monitoring and basic life support, coupled with proficient skills in vital signs measurement and medical equipment handling. Dedicated to contributing to positive patient outcomes and enhancing overall patient experience.
My role as a patient care tech in the ICU was to assist RNs with the daily care of patients, such as bathing, feeding, ambulation, and oral hygiene. I participated in patient admissions, code set-ups, ventilation set-ups, open-heart room set-ups, transfers, and discharging processes. I would collect blood from the blood bank for the RNs and would be involved in the double-verification process. I assisted RNs with 2-hour turns to help maintain the patients' skin integrity. I would also check the patient's blood glucose and use the electronic medical record to chart it. I continually practiced hand hygiene and used the aseptic technique. I used proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilized proper PPE when in contact with a patient in isolation. I continually assessed patients' vital signs, looking for any abnormal trends to report to the RN.
