Accomplishments
I am a Voice for woman in recovery and an advocate for the Community Feedback group that is held once a A month. This group is a group of community members coming together to better identify the opioid crisis and help find solutions of the problems we are facing in the community that pertains to this area. This group also allows the recovering addicts to give their input and tell their stories to where we can better identify where we need more resources and help within the community. It gives the chance for the community to voice what they feel is important for the community to help with substance abuse disorder.
Plan of Safety meetings: This is a Meeting also held once a month that involves Social Services to better help women and their children get the adequate care that they need to be better mothers as well as getting Social Services involved and being advocates for these woman that are in recovery. We come up with plans and ideas and goals to help this program and what it lacks.
Sun Governing Group: This is a meeting held once a month for the past two years to see how the Cabarrus Health Alliance is doing. It is a cross sector collaborative program that we have a lot of people involved. With this program because it takes a village to help woman and men that have an active substance abuse disorder or in recovery. We collaborate with social workers, counselors, doctors, physicians, and other OBYN's, nursers, hospitals and more.
Created highly effective new program that significantly impacted efficiency and improved operations.
Developed relationships with multiple new clients and typically exceeded sales goals by 90%.
Realized recruiting and advertising in ongoing effort to boost revenue while reducing costs.

For the work I am doing at the Sun Project in the past two years I have been on Channel 9 to share my story and what this cross-sector collaborative system does for the community to help with the woman that are pregnant and are suffering from substance abuse disorder. i wanted people to know that you come to this office and its a safe space where you can be honest and get the adequate care you need. Especially in recovery and what this particular program offers. I also am on their Youtube page getting the message out. With the Sun Project being so near and dear to my heart I was able to speak on behalf of Dr.Suda when he was presented the Karen Ponder award. I have also served as a Voice for woman in recovery by speaking at the TarHeel Bus committee and the CHASM Summit speaking on equity. This also has led me to be on Spectrum News to shine light on the Woman that are patients at the Sun Clinc to present the in the light they should see themselves in. This was a Celebration of Moms Portraits , where the mothers were able to have professional pictures taken of them and also included 3 words to describe who they are today.
