With over 56 months of experience at SFWMD, I've mastered heavy equipment operation and team leadership, significantly enhancing diesel engine maintenance and repair. My proactive approach and expertise in preventive maintenance and effective communication have driven project success, showcasing my ability to exceed employer expectations while ensuring safety and efficiency.
I obtained my PSA certification (pump station assistant) 56 months ago.
Over the last 2 and a half years I've taken part in Fairbanks engine overhauls. I've pulled and replaced pistons, crank case covers, fuel and oil lines. I've pulled, replaced and repaired fuel injectors, including pop testing. I've diagnosed and repaired/replaced plumbing for cooling water needed to cool the engines. I've monitored temperatures, pressures and speeds on diesel engines (such as Fairbanks and Caterpillar) when pumping and prolonged engine use has taken place.
I've worked with SFWMD Trade support mechanics doing complete overhauls of pumps and diesel engines at manual stations (such as S4 S3 S2 and S8) and also on automated stations (such as 372 and 370) and electric and Caterpillar engines (like 508) and have complete confidence that I can diagnose, repair and maintain any diesel engine at any stations Clewiston field station maintains.
I've also take part in and have experience in preventative maintenance, ie. changing and adding oil, and greasing moving parts. I'm experienced in the cooling process which requires adding cooling water and maintaining the upkeep of the cooling water source.
Overall I've spent many hours over the last 3 years working on diesel engines and have taken advantage of every moment given to me by coworkers and supervisors here at SFWMD.
