Work History

Electrician Q.C.

EPI Power
West Des Moines
04.2024 - 11.2025
  • Assisted in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electrical problems on-site using myriad testing devices and tools
  • Performed "megger" and "continuity" testing on all installed equipment and componentry to ensure a high degree of product quality and safety.
  • Was responsible for applying torque-spec to every single piece of equipment installed to gaurantee precision for all secured equipment
  • Performed offsite inspections of all incoming tools, equipment, and materials to verify quality and safety standards before coming to the site. This required careful inspection and extensive documentation to avoid problems before they ever arose
  • Applied "Tamper Seals" to all equipment after thorough inspection to prevent unauthorized access to verified equipment. After application, every seal was scanned into my Ipad and documented in coordination with project management as well as field assets
  • Worked closely with General Foreman's and Foreman's crew's to ensure a high degree of accuracy in all aspects of their work. This proactive approach provided on the fly support and prevented expensive/time-intensive/dangerous mistakes before they happenned.Often time's this required me to be on my tools and perform the required work as an example of project expectations, or fix mistakes that required skills the crew did not initially posess
  • Helped Foreman's and General Foreman's interpret blueprint's to gaurantee precision and minimize expensive/ time-intensive rework.
  • Acted as a liaison and worked closely between the project management/engineering/Q.C./Commisioning/ Energy Marshals/ Safety and more for the field crew's. This helped avoid miscommunication and streamlined production. An example being going over changes to blueprints made by engineering and communicating this and adjusted expectations for the product to the field crews
  • Worked closely with other trades such as carpenters and plumbers in order to stay organized, safe and productive in all aspects of the project.
  • Worked closely with other companies such as IES and Waldinger during equipment inspections, meticulously investigating all aspects of build quality to ensure all requirements were met. During inspections, rigorous documentation and a high degree of coordination was required to ensure all requirements were satisfied, or necessary actions were taken to rectify the issue. All of which was constantly communicated to project management and other relevant parties.
  • Acted as a representative for EPI Power during walks with corporate, OSHA, etc.
  • After several high profile accidents on site, I along with other Q.C.'s began assisting Safety by identifying potential hazards across the entire complex in order to prevent further incident's.
  • Due to my attitude towards safety and efficiency, I was designated responsible to fill out the morning/supplemental JSA's and leading the morning meeting. This set the tone for expectations on safety, work standards and communication for the day and allowing high levels of coordination
  • Attended ABC School to further my knowledge and capabilites for myself as well as the company

Electrician - Top Helper

EPI Power
West Des Moines
11.2022 - 04.2024
  • Responsible for the safety and maintenance of all tools, materials and equipment necessary for project requirements. Thorough documentation of inventory was paramount
  • Due to my attitude on safety and efficiency, I was tasked with writing the daily/supplemental JSA's and leading morning meeting with the crew. This set the tone for safety and work expectations for the day
  • Relentlessy maintained my work area by constantly monitoring my "Cazone", keeping tools and material organized and neat, and disposed of trash as it occurred to prevent messy and therefore dangerous work conditions.
  • Installed underground conduit and supports according to provided blueprint's, and ensured all code requirements such as 'no more than 360⁰ of bend on a single run' were met.
  • Carefully transported and installed various electrical equipment and components in their respective positions according to provided blueprints.
  • Worked as a cable puller when necessary, working closely with several individuals to ensure the correct cables/wires made it to their termination points. It was critical this be done without any damage to the cable/wires and adequate slack be provided, including rigorous labeling to prevent confusion and rework
  • Built and installed various supports for conduit, cable trays, cable bus and various other equipment according to blueprints
  • Using available blueprints, I bent and installed conduit of varrying size, either by hand or with powered bending tools. This was done in conjuction with scissor lifts and working closely with different work partners
  • Terminated various electrical equipment and components, such as ATS's, UMS's, Service Panels, etc. according to blueprints and cable schedules
  • Attended ABC School to further my knowledge and skill set for myself as well as the company.
  • Due to my personal philosophy on communication, I learned Spanish to better coordinate with other coworkers and foster a sense of camaraderie. This has proved invaluable to my coworkers and foreman's.
  • Documented daily activities and reported progress to lead electricians on-site.
  • Followed safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment for the team.
  • Participated in training sessions related to scissor lifts, fork lifts, confined space, terminations, F.O.D. maintenance and many more to further my capabilities
