Dressed electrode for clean surface for welding tubing seam using calibers and micrometers to set OD and strip width before electrode and after welding. Mix chemicals for coolants and welder oils. Using various shims feeler gauges and micrometers to set OD for tubing coming out of size mill and using microscopes to check weld inside of tubing
Caught tubing by piece or by coil coming off coating side of mill. Made sure tubing met criteria set from quality based off visual inspection or measurements of OD of tubing using band saw to cut tubing checking weld profile and other characteristics from spec sheets. Would also have to adjust or change alignment of various blowoffs and guide wheels to fix problems while machine running. Mixing various primers, chemicals, and cleaning dross from alloy pots. For making a recipe for good tubing.
