My duties included but were not limited to the following: preparing and reviewing site developement plans, engineering plans, subdivision plans, architectual plans; review and authorized construction plans for building permit issuance to insure compliance with the Zoning Ordinance as well as with the approved special exception site plan regulations and conditions; review construction plans to determine building heights and floor ratios; prepared and managed record copies and documents for approved County Board special exception site plan development; maintain statistical records and files of approved site plans; administer the administrative 4.1 at the time a site plan is submitted for preliminary review; consistently reviews documents and plans on an ongoing bases for compliance with the County Board approved site plan conditions and the Zoning Ordinance; responsible for records management and compliance requirements for over 400 site plans; oversee, provide technical assistance, and supervise three plan reviewers, two site plan inspectors, two zoning inspectors, and one inspector team leader; I prepare performance appraisals and authorize time approval for all of my staff; I provide training to new employees on the site plan team inspectors and plan reviewers; I also provide technical guidance for other employees in the zoning section; I provide technical and procedural information regarding zoning matters to the general public and other county staff; I conduct and participated in informational meetings to advise applicants, architects, engineering, and attorneys on procedures and requirements for filing site plans; I'm consistently working with other County Agencies (ie. DES, DMF, DED, POL, PRCR, DPW, etc.) to address and resolve issues throughout my career at Arlington County

I managed and administered program funding for the Block Assessment, Missing Links, and Cash Neighborhood improvement programs, I was also the liason for the Department of Public Works for the Neighborhood Conservation improvement program from project initiation, qualification process, scope identification, engineering coordination, preliminary and final property assessment procedures; administered the process to acquire construction agreements and conducted right of way negotiations (ie. perform land and easement acquistions); conduct final project inspections for acceptance. Duties also included but were not limited to planning and coordinating construction project designs, funding, scheduling; interact and provide professional and technical assistance to County staff, Neighborhood groups, and contractors; prepare and conduct presentations; reviewed and resolved citizen complaints, prepared and authorized work ordersto implement projects within the various programs; attended and participated in construction schedule meetings, review meetings, County Board and Citizen Association meetings; assigned duties to Engineer Drafters and Technicians; perfomed the functions of Engineer Support Coordinator on occasional bases; worked as snow removal section leader etc.

My responsibities included but were not limited to daily inspections throughout the County of on going development projects of all right of way improvements; (ie, streets, sidewalks, curb & gutter, landscaping, drainage/storm & sanitary sewer, water mains etc.); exercised discretion and independent judgement to determine methods for repairs when and if a problem surfaced; monitored construction contract for milling, paving and slurry seal operations of roadways throughout the county; inspect to verify and ensure that County and State specifications and standards were being implied; enforce the County safety regulations during roadway repair work throughout the County conducted by contractors; worked as snow removal backup section leader etc.

My duties included but were not limited to performing hands on all phases streets and utilities construction, interpreting civil engineering construction design plans and survey data information documents, oversee heavy equipment operator in excavating to proper grades to set forms for curb, gutter, and sidewalk construction; storm sewer and sanitary sewer pipe installation; masonary responsibilities included building catch basins, manholes, rip rap retaining walls, pouring and finishing concrete; operated single axle dump truck as needed and perform snow removal duties etc.
