  • The crane was mainly on a barge and would travel by water to different job locations
  • The job when hired was in Venice and consisted of off -loading the crane from barge to land, and 74 - 36" x 64' pile driven to elevation
  • My main job description was using a Manitowoc 4100 crane and the ICE machine to drive pile, sheet pile, and concrete pile
  • I would use the 4100 to load barges and unload barges
  • I was responsible for daily maintenance of the crane
  • Using load charts and precise weights to calculate a descriptive lift plan
  • There were some safety issues that caused unsafe working conditions, which lead to my resignation

  • My job duties were operating a 70 ton P&H overhead crane
  • This was a power outage at Martins Lake in Texas working on a turbine
  • The types of lifts that were performed were heavy but fragile
  • Some pieces were 50,000 + but had to be completely leveled before lifted
  • Hand signal and communication by radio was very important when making these lifts
  • Watching for correct rigging practices was also very important
  • I also would operate a forklift to help out when the crane was not in use moving materials around
  • This was a short-term project and was laid-off after job was finished
  • Was offered to go to Virginia but declined
