Work History

Software Engineering Intern

DragonGC
Greenwich, CT
04.2024 - 08.2025
  • Built and scaled end-to-end processing pipelines for SEC filings including 10-K, 10-Q, S-1, DEF 14A, and 8-K.
  • Designed LLM-driven semantic tagging systems (alias/keyword generation, heuristic rules), improving tag accuracy and recall across filings.
  • Led the IPO-readiness initiative by implementing the full S-1/S-1A pipeline and QA process, enabling DragonFind to support IPO filings.
  • Technologies: TypeScript, SQL, Docker, Svelte, Serverless Functions, Vercel

Software Engineering Intern

Chess.com
Remote
05.2022 - 08.2023
  • Contributed to projects used by millions of chess players worldwide.
  • Optimized Torch (now the world's #2 chess engine) by designing sparse neural network execution improvements, boosting speed 20% and cutting scaling costs (100% network growth → 35% cost). Enabled training of much larger networks.
  • Built core C++ modules for Botchat (AI Chess Coach) to detect advanced board patterns, powering instruction features used by over 11 million players.

Projects

  • Custom Language Model: Developed a transformer-based language model from scratch in PyTorch, including a byte pair encoding tokenizer with a novel deduplication scheme. Integrated Weights & Biases training logs and implemented a “grafting” technique to transfer weights between model sizes for faster training. Example generation (thumbnail) was trained exclusively on Harry Potter within 30 minutes on a MacBook.
  • Chess Engine: Lightweight chess engine written in JavaScript with a C++ backend. Implements bitboards, selective search heuristics, and alpha-beta pruning for efficient position analysis.
  • Video-Based Point Cloud Generator: Implemented a computer vision pipeline to reconstruct approximate 3D point clouds from videos using feature tracking and projection with OpenCV.
  • 3D Model Renderer: Built a custom 3D graphics renderer from first principles by rasterizing triangles directly to the screen. Implemented projection, transformation, and shading pipelines without external 3D libraries.
