My task was to use a cut torch and/or plasma cutter to remove jacket material to access critical weld points on train cars. If welds were broken I used an arc gouger to remove previous weld and cracked material, clean with a grinder and replace with new welds. If welds were on the tank of the car the weld would be x-rayed. After welds were inspected I measure and cut replacement jacket.
I measured, cut and rolled carbon and stainless steel to weld onto a contoured flange. I used a variety of welding processes such as mig, flux and tig welding.
