Askew was honored by Bertie County as the 2022 Alumni Spotlight for October. He shares the field with a Judge, Army General, Coach, and Medical Doctor. In May 2022, Askew was named to serve on the Appearance Commissions for the Wilson City Government, and in September, he was named to serve as an ambassador with the Rocky Mount Chamber of Commerce. In June 2023, Askew delivered the Commencement Address to the graduating class at Bertie Early College High School. Askew was honored as the 2024 Ambassador of the Year through the Rocky Mount Chamber of Commerce.
Reporting to the VP, Advancement. This position leads NCC's marketing, public relations and communications. Also, with team develops innovative engagement strategy for internal and external stakeholders to effectively and consistently deliver a unique experience to campus-partners and guests while advancing constituent relationships in accordance with college's goals.
Accomplishments:
The Public Relations and Marketing Lead plans, directs and implements public relations, marketing and communications initiatives as delegated and assigned by the Vice President of Strategy & Communications. Coordinates communications between the constituents of UNC Health Nash and its affiliates, employees, the news media and the general public as delegated and assigned. The position also serves as project manager for a host of marketing projects and assist in strategic plan coordination and facilitation for corporate strategic plan.
The Director of Communications is tasked with leading the church's all communications and branding (bulletin production, e-newsletter, Audio-Visual support, web page, social media production, etc.) efforts. This position supervises the following fields: Publications, Digital Communications, Church Master Calendar, Church Data and Master Records, and Church Communications support. The Director of Communications reports to the Head of Staff of the Church and is a member of the senior staff.
This position was crafted by the President and student. The liaison was tasked with working with the President of the College to increase student engagement throughout the student body from a student leader perspective. The liaison was tasked with bringing a student perspective to what the college could do better to increase the appeal of the college to new students. The liaison was also tasked with collaboration between fellow student leaders; advising the president on campus concerns; assessment evaluations; and creating student led conversations for data collection. The liaison reported to the President of the College.
