  • Addressed and resolved as many as a dozen in-service CAD design, stress, and structural issues related to propulsion and nacelle systems
  • Led predictive/proactive projects for all in-service owned propulsion items on 717, 727, 737, and 757 aircraft models
  • Worked directly with international airline customers all around the globe to analyze propulsion system issues, questions, and suggestions
  • Wrote technical documents to inform airline customers of status, monitoring supplier performance for compliance.

Design Engineer

FRALOCK
01.2021 - 02.2023
  • Designed 20+ high performing PCBs, flexible circuits, and other electrical components via CAD and CAM software per long-term outer-orbit project
  • Provided mechanical, electrical, and aerospace solutions to customers through product knowledge and CAD drafts
  • Designed approximately 3-5 tools, fixtures, and OEM parts via CAD daily for short-term manufacturing products as well as prepared router and BOM details
  • Inspected, tested, and ran diagnostics on all created part numbers for quality assurance in accordance with industry standards.

Design Engineer

GLADEV
01.2019 - 12.2020
  • CAD designed 4-6 payload-supporting UAVs per quarterly year and developed the full-scope of the aircraft including microcontroller PCBs, propeller blade disk loading, and lithium polymer battery-powered brushless motors and wiring in fast-paced start-up environment
  • Led team of 3 other engineers in design meetings with customers and was responsible for redlining blueprint drawings and statement of work project requirements to ensure efficient and quality design and manufacturing processes
  • Prepared BOM and parts ordering schedule for all fixed-wing/multirotor UAVs products and their individual components
  • Performed electrical and flight analysis tests using the extracted telemetry data from piloted flights and applying Ohm's law and other aerodynamic formulas for continued research and development

Planetary Rover Design Team Member

Space Systems Laboratory
09.2017 - 12.2018
  • Created CAD drafts and final design for a 60kg 4-wheel rocker-suspension rover following GD&T
  • Completely drafted schematic of all electrical moving parts and communication system of full-functioning rover
  • Documented and tracked routing, bill of materials, and gantt chart in order to successfully plan the development
  • Operated robust machine tools independently in lab for aluminum structures to construct body and rotary arm.

Aircraft Design Intern

AIAA Design, Build, Fly
09.2016 - 05.2017
  • Created a complete detailed CAD model of 1.2m RC aircraft following GD&T
  • Designed and programmed the electrical schematic PCBs to successfully fly the fixed wing UAV autonomously
  • Led the planning details, physical design, construction, and testing of the completed fixed-wing aircraft
  • Constructed aircraft in fast paced independent yet team-oriented environment to meet deadlines.

Flight Dynamics Research Intern

UAS Research And Operations Center
06.2015 - 05.2016
  • Set up and piloted payload flight test experiments with controlled variables, tracking data via ArduPilot software for newly emerging commercial UAV technology
  • Wrote Fourier Transformation algorithms to convert mid-flight frequencies into readable data, re-input into self-written Matlab code to simultaneously calculate thrust and power coefficients, and output disk loading graphs via helicopter aerodynamic theory formulas
  • Created CAD models of outer body, rotor blades and gimbal components for various quadcopter manufacturers for 3D printing and part interchangeability
  • Performed flow simulation and finite element analysis for indoor and outdoor flight environments
  • Programmed flight controller PCB for autonomous flight mission capabilities
  • Published a research paper on the full-scope of work and delivered a presentation to the board of the AIAA YPSE Conference

Accomplishments

Successfully took over a long-standing project for NASA's interplanetary Europa Clipper mission and completely resolved the design and manufacturing issues for two dozen thermal and electrical management components.

Achieved a company-wide 20% increase in manufacturing productivity and decrease in dimensioning errors in parts by introducing a re-transformed method of streamlining CAD file sharing, editing, and organization throughout the company.

Attained 100% timeliness in providing temporary/permanent repair solutions with accompanying FAA documentation to Boeing operators for emergency revenue flights. This produced consistent safe uninterrupted flights for thousands of consumers and a positive reflection on the company despite in-service-related issues.
