  • As a Certified critical care nurse, my responsibilities in the ICU include managing critically ill patients on ventilators, life-sustaining equipment, invasive monitoring, and medications.


  • I assume charge nurse responsibilities and help to manage a 12 bed unit, precepting and educating new nurses. I am also on the hospital committee representing our ICU in monthly hospital meetings. As well as the steering committee which is designed to help improve practice by assessing performance gaps and resolving through education to improve outcomes specific to our unit.


  • In 2019, I was selected to help with the opening operations of the UPMC York Memorial. One of my strengths exemplified during this time was my leadership skills, helping to implement policies and educating and precepting my peers.


  • Another natural strength is my ability to compassionately, presently, and kindly support and comfort patients and their family members. I can also remain calm during stressful, high-pressure situations, which helps me provide a reassuring, confident environment for my patients, their families, and my peers.
