Responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and managing a wide variety of projects involving the outside plant construction of residential fiber.
Act as the primary liaison between LUMEN and external partners including municipalities and utility companies.
Work with customers, landowners, Contractors and others to plan, design and monitor the moving, modification and emergency repair of all Company copper facilities.
Work with subcontracted Engineering firms to produce CAD and Workprints for jobs requiring splicing, excavation, etc. Monitor progress; quality control of received engineering products.
Build simple-to-complex projects using proprietary Company databases; responsible for monitoring, maintaining and adjusting project budgets.
Provision, maintain and troubleshoot voice, Internet (DSL, Metro Ethernet, Ethernet Over Copper, GPON), T-1, T-3 Carrier, Fiber Optic and other circuits. Monitor and maintain Central Office switching equipment.
Responsible for remote / satellite unmanned offices in addition to Missoula Main.
Provisioning and turn-up af new ROADM rings. Responsible for alarms testing and node visibility.
Maintain operational status of Central Office back-up power and related equipment, performing periodic inspections of generators and large DC battery cell strings. Periodic under-load operation of stationary and portable generator engines, as well as discharge of DC battery banks. Compute and document battery reserve time and office loads.
Utilize various terminal emulations i.e. Hyperterminal, Litecraft Pro, Tellabs Craftstation for equipment turn-up and maintenance.
Install, maintain and repair Telephone Company facilities to customer/user end. Provision and maintain POTS and DSL circuits end-to-end. Maintain stocked fleet vehicle. Utilize extension ladders and climbing gaffs to access aerial copper plant facilities.
Install, administer, maintain and troubleshoot Executone, Vodavi, Alcatel and other Key and PBX systems. Install, terminate and test telephone and data network wiring, patch panels and other peripheral equipment. Extensive Customer Service and statewide travel.
Performed all phases of low-voltage infrastructure installation, to include termination and testing, for State of Montana government facilities.
