Environmental Systems Technician - Solid Waste

  • I act as part of a hazardous materials response team as well as maintain, construct, operate and monitor leachate collection, surface water, ground water, landfill gas and hazardous waste management systems, and other environmental issues for the Kootenai County Solid Waste Department
  • I understands results of all testing that includes, but is not limited to gas system, leachate system, transfer station(s) effluent, air quality and water quality
  • Ability to read, calculate and understand all reports from regulations, engineers, etc
  • I maintain leachate control systems, which may include construction and fine tuning of the mechanics of the leachate evaporator; collecting leachate samples and/or gas system samples
  • I implement construction activities including but not limited to methane gas piping system, leachate pipe system, volatile gas destruction (flare), wastewater treatment, road building, and everyday trouble shooting of our SCADA system

Environmental Engineer Tech II
