I am Lead Machine Technician Operator for one the the AVG welders at insteel wire in Dayton Texas that welds processed deformed or smooth variable sized wire into sheets or rolls that they use for reinforcement concrete. This machine is the AVG 158 mesh welder that does 2 to 3 inch patterns and a 4" or 6" or the 8" pullout. The sheets can be rolled up to 600ft into rolls or various sized sheets. When I first started at insteel wire, I was the helper. Operating the coiler such as tying the roll up when the weld shear cuts after the length of the roll is automatically satisfied. and the extreme manuel labor of manuel operations of pulling up heavy coil cans of wire up to the machine or up to the butweilder for the operator to buttweld wire to the end of job to pull up the new job. Then help the operator setup for pattern change by handing tools and moving parts around. I would operate the controls on the coiler and learned to butweild the cw when that can got low on wire for quick reload. I then learned to use the stick welder for repairs.
