AOG Coordinators/Controllers are responsible for providing logistical parts support for grounded aircraft throughout the United System. The AOG Coordinator/Controller supports 24/7 Logistical Operations to ensure timely processing of AOG material and tooling requests.
Coordinate the logistics effort in support of AOG (Aircraft on Ground) aircraft, Placard/MEL/DF/CF recovery activities and Loans, Borrows and Accommodation Sales. Works closely with the Maintenance Control Supervisors to identify AOG parts requirements and determines the best method of obtaining parts utilizing company inventories. Coordinates with Engineering, Internal/External Repair Shops, Inventory Planning and Boeing/Airbus Technical Support desks to determine correct part(s) needed to meet maintenance requirements. Purchases aircraft parts from OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturers), other airlines and aircraft parts brokers at the best overall cost to the company to support unplanned events and AOG situations. Initiates purchase orders and ensures receipt, payment and finalization of acquired inventory.
Inventory, shipping and receiving of rotable (recoverable) and non-rotable (expendable) aircraft inventory and tooling to other stations for use with United aircraft by CAP (low), AOM (medium/high) or AOG (critical-must-ride) priorities. Use of SCEPTRE software for inventory management and movement of company inventory to provide customer service to aircraft maintenance personnel. Use of Global Logistics portal and UNIMATIC to check international station profiles for embargos and shipping requirements and restrictions. Use of uShip software for creating and shipping international and hazmat class shipments to other stations in support of the operation. Use of UNIMATIC, BART and UC360 software to create, track and verify shipments are loaded and moved accordingly through the system. Use of TOCS 2.0 software to track movement and communicate movement of AOG priority shipments to the tracking AOG Controller.
Load, unload, and transfer baggage, cargo and mail from carts, conveyor belts, and containers, on and off United & United Express aircraft. Communicate with the Control Center and other departments to ensure efficient and safe aircraft, cargo and baggage movement on the AOA. Coordination with Customer Service to safely attach and stow the airport jet bridges.
Ensuring adequate inventory of various types of Unit Load Device equipment for the needs of the daily operation. Inspecting ULD before use and cross verifying physical ULD weights with digital shipment manifest. Staging outbound shipments in an organized manner for cargo runners to deliver to outbound aircraft. Staged and manifested shipments forwarded to United Airlines dispatch leads.
Locate and identify missing/lost cargo in the logistics network and track QPK priority parcels utilizing United Cargo 360 & BART software. Use of Unimatic software to analyze various commands and track aircraft and AWB movement history. Rebooking located shipments in UC360 and contacting the shipper/customer when a missing shipment and or pieces of a shipment is identified and located in the corresponding facility. Manually adjusting movement status of shipments in the various tracking software pending the physical location of the shipment. Use of Microsoft Office Suite to take daily AWB inventory. Coordinating with the United Cargo Reservations & Sales team to rebook held-off International shipments (mostly due to excessive weight and or limited capacity for outbound flight destination) based on the shipper's volume, commodity and generated revenue.
