Leadership Principles

  • Keep your team motivated and engaged. Treat everyone with respect so they can concentrate on the task at hand. Listen to your team and respond to their needs. We don't want to lose our experienced developers. Our best ideas come from the team that builds our solutions.
  • Design your software platform with purpose, not excess: Your software platform should be tailored to your business's specific needs. Don't waste resources on unnecessary redundancies or shaving milliseconds off queries. Instead, focus on achieving 99.999% availability and zero downtime, even during software deployments.
  • Empower your teams to focus on what they do best - coding, testing, and innovating - by minimizing repetitive ceremonies. Agile development is a great approach, but be mindful of the ceremonies that can sometimes come along with Scrum. Kanban can be a good alternative.
  • Transparency is key - don't let bad news fester by ignoring it. Keep the leadership team informed so we can prepare and adjust accordingly. Celebrate accomplishments with all teams working towards the same goals. When goals are achieved, everyone should be part of the celebration.
  • Iterate often. Embrace small failures as stepping stones to progress. Keep your customers in the loop by letting them know you're always working on delivering better solutions.
