Dedicated, passionate, and responsive elementary teacher with thirteen years of proven skills in classroom management, behavior modification, curriculum planning, data-driven instruction, and individualized instruction. Currently seeking an elementary teaching position within the West Lafayette Community School Corporation. Experienced in supporting diverse learners, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. Committed to modeling a growth mindset, sparking a lifelong love of learning. Devoted to continuously improving teaching practices through professional development, seminars, and other literary works.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in a quote I first heard in college: “Students should see me as a friend, but respect me as a teacher.” This belief shapes how I build strong, respectful relationships with all students by treating them equally and fairly, regardless of their circumstances. I strive to provide an attainable, supportive education where every student has the opportunity to succeed. I also work to create a safe, inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to use their voices and engage meaningfully with both peers and adults. When students feel heard and valued, they are more likely to connect with their learning and thrive academically.
