Patrol Operations
- Respond to calls for service including crimes in progress, domestic incidents, motor vehicle accidents, and quality-of-life complaints.
- Enforce New York State Penal Law and Vehicle & Traffic Law while prioritizing officer and public safety.
- Conduct thorough investigations, prepare detailed reports, and testify in court proceedings.
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication during high-stress and critical incidents.
Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) – Entry Team / SWAT
- Respond to high risk incidents including high-risk warrant service, barricaded subjects, hostage situations and armed suspect incidents.
- Conduct dynamic and deliberate entries, clearing structures and mitigating threats.
- Train regularly in firearms, breaching, tactics, and team-based operations to maintain operational readiness.
- Explosive Breaching Team Member-Build and deploy explosive breaching charges during training and high risk incidents. Design and implement tactics regarding placement of charges, detonations, and entries after detonation. Document inventory and training.
Field Training Officer (FTO)
- Train, mentor, and evaluate newly hired police officers during their field training phase.
- Provide clear instruction, guidance, and corrective feedback while documenting performance and progress.
- Ensure new officers understand department policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Identify strengths and deficiencies, recommend remedial training when necessary, and promote professional development.
Police Academy Drill Instructor
- Instruct and supervise police recruits during academy training.
- Teach law enforcement fundamentals including tactics, professionalism, discipline, and physical fitness.
- Evaluate and document recruit performance and enforce academy standards.
- Instill accountability, attention to detail, and adherence to policy in future officers.
