Work History

Manufacturing Technician

Horiba scientific
08.2019 - Current
  • Working in a snake like manufacturing environment to create high output and high quality spectrometers to be used in automotive and fume technology by assembling and testing optics and other components at their best capabilities
  • Prepared fixtures by cleaning with Methanol and Acetone using wipes to remove any particles or leftover glue from previous batches
  • Make sure all optics are scratch free as well as coinciding numbers to trace any potential bad batches
  • Print labels to track the process of each batch completed as well as scanning into the system to assure engineers could monitor any steps missed
  • Apply epoxy to optics after mounting and using guides place a button on each optic while applying pressure and making sure it is centered and touching the shim placed on top of the optic
  • Place in the oven for the amount of days necessary then remove and take shim off before placing it in the oven again for the final baking cycle
  • After final bake, use an epoxy place optic into metal mask to avoid damages to the face of the optic and leaving to dry before performing test to categorize each optic as good, acceptable, or reject
  • Assign optics to work order using an engineer provided program and pass along for the next step to use
  • Using optics assembled before, attempt to align 3 different optics into a housing by placing a laser in an opening and trying to reflect the laser onto a certain number on a scale to provide maximum strength as well as best location for continuous use of each spectrometer
  • Once perfect match was determined, units would go to final alignment where new software was introduced to confirm matches, any issues would require troubleshooting as well as reworking units
  • Worked with small parts, as well as lifting over 40 pounds of units and housings
  • Inventory every quarter as well as constant accounting for parts used and parts necessary.
  • Tested selected products at specified stages in production process for performance characteristics or adherence to specifications.
  • Established and managed trial projects to deploy updated processes.
  • Inspected finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Built product subassemblies or final assemblies and monitored and adjusted production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.

Assembler

Honeywell
04.2020 - 08.2020
  • Prep PWB (Printed Wire Boards) for assembly by cleaning them using different methods including machinery as well as brushes and Isopropyl Alcohol, Axarel and Di-Ionized Water
  • Using layouts and schematics from customers, determine the next step in the process and using soldering gun attach components
  • Using the company’s system, record any work done on board and place in oceans necessary allowing any work done to cure correctly
  • Use epoxies to attach components and solidify connections, curing in the oven for specified times
  • Using grounding items, carry boards that are very sensitive to ElectroStatic Discharge while maintaining fast paced movements and ensuring all items are handled and moved properly while in circulation.
  • Assembled components with minimal supervision, exceeding expected project milestones.
  • Utilized blueprints, schematics and diagrams to accurately complete tasks.
  • Followed safety protocols to maintain safe working environment.

Manufacturing technician

08.2019 - 09.2019
  • Prep work orders by verifying counts and items being worked on
  • Apply paste to units and mount on mandrel to be used on a rotary machine
  • Use mandrels to remove excess metal from stents by applying pressure with a foam pad
  • After target weight is acquired wash units in a wringer with distilled water and isopropyl and dry units in an oven
  • Send units to be expanded in another room, once units come back they get weighed again and put on a bigger mandrel in a sanding machine
  • Once target weight is reached units are washed and dried again and sent to the next step in manufacturing procedure
  • Used excel after each step to document weight and separate failures as well as under worked units.

Production Technician

Trumpf photonics
07.2018 - 05.2019
  • Inspect and test materials to prepare them for production by using a microscope and an electric testing machine
  • Pre-Apply modules using Norland glue
  • Create orders through SAP ERP for my side of the clean room
  • Run FiconTec calibration programs using Golden Module and change glue syringe to prepare machines for production
  • Load modules for production and monitor 6 total FiconTec for error messages, lens replacement, cleaning of syringe as well as loading new modules to meet production needs
  • Inspect modules for missing glue and optics to allow engineers to add glue
  • Re-lens modules as needed using computers while making sure no crashes or damages occurred
  • Using SAP ERP confirm each step done to the module and move the order along until it reaches the next step in production
  • Keep track of modules built, update database with information necessary for engineers, keep a time study using Excel to inform upper management of trends and ongoing issues with the FiconTec
  • Partial training in Prism attachment as well as Fiber Splicing and coupling
