I am responsible for implementing the requirements of the Line Blockage Analysis Program and preventive maintenance efforts. I maintain a schedule of preventive maintenance for the entire collection system, using the Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS), Inspection database system, and Enterprise Geographical Information System (EGIS) to update, modify, and remove segments from preventive maintenance as required. I research, manage and coordinate the detail investigation of all Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO) and building backups. I coordinate verbal and written correspondence with customer with sewer related issues, this includes initial customer contact and all subsequent follow up of findings and final resolution. I collaborate with, and provide guidance and technical assistance to, other Divisions within the Commission including Claims, Emergency Service Center, Regulatory Services, Customer Care, Pipeline Construction, and Pipeline Design as well as WSSC Water licensed plumbers. I research and prepare documents and summaries for Freedom of Information Act and Maryland Public Information Act request regarding building backups and sanitary sewer overflows. I generate Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) work orders following every SSO to ensure that WSSC Water meets the Consent Decree 10-day CCTV deadline requirements as specified in the Consent Decree. I review CCTV lateral inspections and pipeline inspections and make recommendations in accordance with National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) standardization for rehabilitation and preventive maintenance. I digitize, delete and verify the location of building backups and SSOs in GIS and research incorrect attribute data and notifies Mapping Section as required for Consent Decree compliance.
I am responsible for receiving routine and emergency communications between all Commission departments and respective field units. I have demonstrated the ability to analyze available information to efficiently coordinate and dispatch all emergency jobs. I have shown proficiency in interpreting and summarizing field reports in a manner where internal and external customers can comprehend. I accurately enter and maintain data in MMIS while also utilizing other databases such as PPIS, GIS, CSIS, MWM and C2M to assist customers and provide field personnel with pertinent information. I am also able to read and interpret valve cards, 200' sheets, and house connection cards to better assist field personnel, plumbers and customers. I am responsible for reporting all SSO events to the Maryland Department of Environment and other outside agencies while also collecting pertinent data necessary to ensure compliance with the Consent decree. I have thorough knowledge of Commission policies and procedures in water and sewer matters and excel at maintaining effective working relationship with internal and external customers.
