I've been working with my hands since i was a young man with my father, and always worked as a handyman/laborer until i finally landed ashore at electric boat in Rhode Island. I love what i do, and Rhode Island has been a home to two of my children for all their lives, but unfortunately i cannot make a good life here. We as a family are looking to relocate somewhere where a nuclear family is still viable as a tradesman.
Most of my career at EB is what we call shop work, but i have experience brazing and fitting inside a hull as well. I've spent time working in the 932 on the UK AU and US hulls for the CMC program under the supervision of Jason Dandeneau and other supervisors, who has provided a letter of recommendation. I worked in the #7 warehouse during the work shortage and furlow programs setting up for the influx of new materials for the new class of ships, under Titilola Palmer where I became familiar with material transportation and identification procedures until Covid hit, and experienced fitters were needed again in the shop as most employees had gone out on leave or simply left. This gave me an advantage over other fitters in the shop as I was intimately familiar with how fittings are received and identified outside the shop, and have been able to identify material that is misidentified or simply shipped incorrectly.
While working in the 904, i apprenticed under Bernie Brammal a Master Shipbuilder almost fifty year employee of the company where I attained not only the braze certification, but what he affectionately refers to as "tribal knowledge" of the trade of brazing, including unique and largely unheard of pieces, unique and specific to nuclear submarines. I am largely left alone with difficult or bothersome jobs and tasks, often with a new employee who has either taken a genuine interest, or needs special attention to get them on their feet, and this specific experience I feel would be invaluable to this facility I've written this resume specifically for EB and your facility, as my wife has fallen in love with the idea of returning back to the south, this facility is the perfect match for our needs as a family. I hope to be considered for a position where I can remain for years to come.
