  • Senior  leader responsible for all Department level administrative programs for the Colorado Department of Public Safety (CDPS).
  • Leads a multi-disciplinary team of over 100 personnel which encompasses the Controller and accounting staff, Budget Director and staff, Procurement Director and staff, Logistics Director and staff and the Colorado School Safety Resource Center.  Supports the Executive Director ensuring effective information flow and efficient use of resources including over $414 million in annual appropriations.
  • Supervises the Directors of major Department program areas; approves policies that govern the programs, coordinates efforts and maintains overall accountability for accomplishment of program objectives.

  • Supervised a professional level staff with eight subordinate supervisors and multi-disciplinary programs encompassing human resources, policy development, purchasing, fleet management and strategic level material management with fiscal budget and contracted responsibilities in excess of $120 million.
  • Planned and implemented a 60% increase in organizational capability designed to support expanded regional territory through improved resource utilization and negotiated workforce realignment. 
  • Created and implemented the corresponding organizational change plan and policies, then trained and mentored subordinate leaders who implemented the plan resulting in a top two rating nationally from 2012-2014.  

Strategic Planner - United States Southern Command

  • Principal architect and project manager responsible for the revision of a politically complex major contingency plan for an internationally focused strategic command with oversight for the Caribbean, Central America and South America.

Responsible for administration and managerial oversight of all internal staff operations and programs encompassing fleet management, maintenance management, human resources, intelligence, operational planning, critical equipment replacement and modernization, communications/IT, and budget expenditures for over 6,000 major pieces.
  • Planned and developed the activation of two new subordinate units following an organizational move from Europe to Kansas. Established all new internal policies and operating processes in support of the redesign and synchronized over 50 new equipment acquisition, training and implementation programs.
  • Developed a new maintenance activity capitalizing on internal skills to produce the highest operational readiness rate in the organization, exceeding the 90% threshold and conserving over $250,000 in maintenance expenditures.
