  • Under direction Child Protection Specialist encompasses professional positions in the Department of Children and Family Services which perform investigations of alleged child neglect, abuse and sexual abuse and do not serve on a continuous basis as line supervisors of professional staff
  • Such investigations are initiated within twenty-four hours of report to determine if a child is in immediate danger and, if necessary, a safety plan or protective custody is arranged in order to prevent further danger to the child
