Work History

Application Platform Engineer

Oracle
01.2022 - Current
  • Owner and maintainer of the CI/CD pipelines, acting as lead architect and engineer for all changes and features.
  • Works with Cloud Operations to monitor production Jenkins jobs that are critical to DevOps processes, and frequently leads debugging and provides live solutions for issues.
  • Designed and implemented a testing deployment that is set up like production to test issues that are only reproducible in production. The deployment process dynamically reallocates CPU from existing production environments without needing to dedicate resources specifically to this environment. This has been used to test at least 10 issues and features that were not testable in the old environments.
  • Created an integration testing framework for the CI/CD pipelines to test pipeline and application features.
  • Develops and deploys dashboards In OCI Logging to visualize critical performance metrics, such as HTTP error rates, memory usage, API call volumes, pod status, and background job performance, providing essential insights for proactive system monitoring. Also maintains the pipelines responsible for deploying these dashboards.
  • Authored documentation on pipeline structure, debugging strategies, load balancing, and standard operating procedures. Created step-by-step guides for frequent tasks, such as adding microservices, updating memory allocations, and executing Python and Bash scripts during deployment workflows.

Application Engineer

Oracle
06.2017 - 01.2022
  • Led several efforts to modularize the Java Enterprise application by separating components into independent microservices.
  • Created a centralized framework to support currency conversions for various objects within the application. Dramatically cut down the number of bugs that were reported and decreased the turnaround time for bugs related to currency conversion, as the code was now in a shared framework.
  • Developed metrics capture prototype with Prometheus for improved system performance visibility.

Associate Application Engineer

Oracle
06.2015 - 06.2017
  • Designed back end components, including DAOs, EOs, and SQL schema.
  • Conducted integration tests for reliable, high-performing applications.
  • Troubleshot issues to enhance functionality and performance.
  • Enhanced documentation for improved team knowledge sharing.
