Manage and monitor the municipality's network and server infrastructure, ensuring high availability, regular backups, and disaster recovery readiness.

ICT SLA Monitoring.

Develop, monitor, and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with external vendors and internal teams to maintain service quality.

ICT Support and User Assistance.

Supervise the ICT helpdesk, ensuring timely user support, organizing end-user training, and monitoring user satisfaction.

ICT Infrastructure, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity.

Implement and maintain the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans, ensuring system backups, testing, and incident readiness.

ICT Risk Management.

Maintain and update the ICT Risk Register, identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and report on risk status.

Policy and Procedure Compliance.

Ensure compliance with municipal ICT policies through regular audits, staff training, and assisting with policy development and updates.

ICT Project Management

Support the ICT Manager with planning and executing ICT projects, managing project teams, tracking progress, and conducting post-project evaluations.

Leadership and Team Development

Provide guidance and mentorship to ICT staff, facilitate training, conduct performance reviews, and promote team collaboration.

Reporting and Documentation

Prepare regular reports on ICT operations, maintain accurate documentation of systems and projects, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Design and Implementation of Networks.

Plan, design, and implement Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) to support organizational needs.

Ensure network architecture aligns with current and future operational requirements.

Network Performance Monitoring and Optimization.

Regularly monitor network traffic, usage, and performance.

Identify and resolve network bottlenecks to ensure optimal performance.

Analyze logs and reports to detect issues and apply corrective actions.

Hardware Configuration and Maintenance.

Install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Ensure proper functioning and up-to-date firmware for all network equipment.

Network Security Management.

Implement and maintain security protocols to protect the network from threats.

Monitor for unauthorized access, security breaches, and vulnerabilities.

Apply regular updates and patches to safeguard systems.

Network Upgrades and Expansion.

Plan and execute network infrastructure upgrades.

Coordinate the expansion of networks to accommodate organizational growth.

Ensure minimal disruption during upgrade or expansion activities.

Troubleshooting and Support.

Diagnose and resolve network-related issues.

Provide support for end-users experiencing connectivity problems.

Liaise with external service providers when necessary.

Documentation and Reporting.

Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and incidents.

Prepare reports on network performance, issues, and resolutions.

Compliance and Best Practices.

Ensure the network operates in compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.

Implement best practices in network design, security, and management.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.

Participate in the development and testing of disaster recovery plans for network systems.

Ensure network availability and recovery in case of outages or failures.
