Working with A Child’s Place for the summer has taught me just how different everyone is from each other. It has also taught me how to cater to every child’s needs. From working here I’ve gained experience and certain skills such as patience, understanding, assertion, leadership, and creativity. Over the summer I worked with Division 5,7 and 9. In the early weeks they were all together but later on it split into 5 and 7 then 9 on their own. I was put to work with the other counselors in D9. I quickly became a favorite since I tried to relate more to the kids while still letting them know that I am a counselor. I can confidently say that working with all the Divisions I was put into, working with the children was easy.
