- My freshman year of college, I auditioned for several new plays (written by MFA students)being performed for a festival. I got callbacks to all 3 plays. The one I was cast in was called Pressing, and I was cast as a Polish immigrant mother. It's practically unheard of for a freshman to be cast in this festival, and I made it happen my very first year.
- In grade school during a speech competition, my trio won Judge's Choice for the judges' overall favorite performance of the night.
I am currently a sophomore at the University of New Mexico and I'm majoring in Theatre. I've taken several classes within the theatre world and have learned a lot of valuable things. In one of my many acting classes, my instructor, Theresa Carson, taught us several acting methods. I have beginner experience in the methods of Chekhov and Stanislavski, as well as many others.
I completed a semester long Ballroom Dancing class, which I really enjoyed. This helped me gain some more general dancing skills as well as reinforce ones I already had.
One of my cast-mates from the play I was in freshman year asked me to be in a stage reading of the play she would later direct. I went to a couple of rehearsals and prepped for reading to a test audience.
As a hobby, I love doing makeup and SFX makeup. For years, I've been playing around with makeup looks, both for every day wear and creative experimentation. In high school, I began teaching myself how to do SFX makeup. I have created lots of hyper-realistic, bloody, gory wounds. I've created various types of fake wounds including bullet wounds, deep cuts, a gouged out eye, bruises, etc.
I have been asked to do makeup for weddings, proms, school dances, and stage performances. For all the shows I was involved in with my high school, I was the unofficial designated makeup artist. Since so many people didn't know how to apply their own makeup, so many of the cast members always asked me to apply their stage makeup.
