• Greater Iowa Youth For Christ: 2020 Through an internship, led a local non-profit agency department working with youth ages 15-19 in need of positive, supporting adults to partner in good decision making, finishing education goals, obtaining/maintaining employment, and positive social interactions through volunteer opportunities. This role focused on leading volunteer-leaders through implementing group training of curriculum and policies, leading a large group meeting every Thursday evening for students and volunteer leaders, and individual check-ins with volunteers to partner with them in student interactions.
• Leech Lake Band of Ojibwa, Family Preservation Department: 2018 Through an internship, worked alongside Family Preservation Professionals at LLBOO in partnering with families in accessing available resources, obtaining/maintaining employment, and seeking crisis intervention services. This role gave invaluable experience in working with individuals of diverse cultures and background.
• Sele Enat, Addis Ababa Ethiopia: 2016 Through a volunteer opportunity, traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and spent a summer of cultural immersion working with youth at Sele Enat; a local orphanage. Worked with special needs youth on language, social-emotional skills, and food handling. Gained unique life perspective by living with a host family, traveling on weekends and seeking to understand and immerse within a different culture.
