Make outgoing phone calls to patients providing them with medication details and cost.

Assist in answering incoming patient calls regarding medication.

• Fill patient medication per doctor order and deliver to nurse for administration.

• Restock drug Omnicell medication daily to maintain par quantities required for treating patients.

• Replenish Crash Cart medications as necessary.

• Answer and direct incoming pharmacy phone calls to pharmacist for explanation/clarification on drug issues.

• Access Medicaid, Medicare, VA and various commercial insurance websites to view eligibility status and coverage limits as well as obtain EOB of payments as needed to bring account to zero balance.
• Phone multiple insurance companies to obtain clarification on payment and denial status of claims.
• Phone insured and/or patient to verify medical insurance information and demographic information.

• Verify Medicare customer eligibility.
• Verify that customer plan choice is the correct one for their state/county of residence.
• Verify that customers required to have Medicaid for their plan choice do in fact have currently active Medicaid benefits.
• Once all customer information has been verified as eligible, data entry information into computer system.
• Phone customer to obtain any additional needed information to process application such as verification of Medicare number, Medicaid number, physical/mailing addresses, consent to process the application, etc.

• Verify insured claimant eligibility and eligibility of charges submitted by medical providers.
• Data entry submitted medical procedure charges into computer system to create a payment to provider and an EOB to insured.
• Maintain current training on ICD9, CPT, TPL, COB and Medicare requirements.
• Relieve Secretary at front desk during lunch and breaks.
