LETRS training accelerated my teacher knowledge, which directly benefited the students I taught.
LETRS enabled me to learn about why learning to read is difficult, what the mind does when it reads, how children learn to read and spell and how to use assessments for prevention and differentiation. One important item I learned is that oral language and vocabulary are very important. The reading rope consists of many strands that are woven into a skilled reader. Both language comprehension and word recognition contain specific skills yet influence one another in the development of a proficient reader.
