As a self-employed business woman of two successful businesses for 25 years I then found a passion for helping others when I became a volunteer for Eastern Alpine Fire 11 years ago. Now I help to recruit, train, retain and coordinate new volunteers joining the fire department. I'm currently involved in coordinating training between local agencies. I've been assigned the task of coordinating off district resources and filing appropriate paperwork and collecting funds for federal and state fires. I have taken many challenging classes to enhance my skills as a First Responder/EMT. I became a Fire Captain 7 years ago which has given me more management and leadership skills. As a single resource on a water tender on the Fork Fire 2020, along with the Tamarack Fire in 2021, and on a strike team Type 3 Brush Truck on the Caldor fire in 2021, I gained experience in very active fires. I have assisted with training at the Lake Tahoe Basin Fire Academy for the past 10 years, which provides a California Firefighter 1 certification to it's graduates. Being born and raised in the area, Alpine County and it's residents are close to my heart.
