  • Leader of the Iowa Community Program team, the program's mission for each year, and key priorities identified by the administration. We have 11 offices across Iowa for Rural Development.
  • Managed (20 staff members) located around the state.
  • HR duties include onboarding, mentoring, quarterly performance reviews, and training.
  • Manage pipeline, approval, and underwriting of WEP (Water and Wastewater) and CF (Community Facilities) loans, ranging from 1M to 42M in size. We use commercial underwriting standards for our review purposes.
  • Ensured that procedures and regulations are met on applications, underwriting, and loan servicing for the Iowa Portfolio.
  • Lead team meetings in person and virtually, including coordination, preparation, PowerPoint presentations, and public speaking at the meetings.
  • Outreach, including conferences, speaking at conferences to promote the Rural Development programs and booth exhibitions.
  • Thorough understanding and interpretation of Rural Development-Community Program regulations for Community Facilities, Water and Wastewater programs, Guaranteed loans, and Servicing regulations.
  • Commercial processing, underwriting, and funding. Preparation for the Senior loan committee (Loans over 25M). The types of properties we work with include non-profit and Public Bodies. Examples include hospitals, nursing homes, Fire stations, City Halls, and Water and Wastewater facilities.
  • Responsible for the CF & WEP portfolio, collections, and servicing for delinquent or stressed accounts, including workout agreements, re-amortizations, and counseling for borrowers (for example, nursing homes, colleges, hospitals, and daycare centers).

  • Review grant and loan applications for eligibility, regulations, policies, procedures, security, and repayment ability. Reviews processing files for completeness and underwriting for accuracy.
