Responsibilities in addition to those of the previous position include:

  • Leading the overall financial and administrative operations of the company, overseeing every aspect of accounting, including general ledger and journal entries, receivables, payables, invoicing, reconciliations, annual operating and project budgets, and month- and year-end close.
  • Managing human resources functions such as recruitment, employee relations, training, payroll and benefits administration for a diverse, multi-cultural staff of 40+ in the U.S and 8 countries.
  • Assessing business risks and best practices based on internal reviews, audit findings and award requirements and developing policies and procedures accordingly to optimize effectiveness and create a strong internal control environment;
  • Negotiating and managing banking and vendor relationships, corporate business licenses, liability policies, and coordinating with IT on secure strategies and risk mitigation efforts;
  • Advising senior leaders on major decisions regarding company-wide initiatives and approaches for resolving complex issues impacting operations.

Major accomplishments:

  • Led financial and administrative oversight of 5-year $8.5M USAID prime contract with multiple subcontractors, which closed out 5% under budget and with no audit findings;
  • Oversaw move of $10M+ 401k plan to new recordkeeper, assumed lead Plan Administrator duties and diversified funds available for investment; provided ample communication/ education leading to 100% employee participation and an increased average deferral rate;
  • Created and enhanced several initiatives supporting corporate diversity, equity and inclusion, including revisions to recruiting policies and early recognition of Juneteenth as an official company holiday, leading to increased employee satisfaction.
