Track and Field is a great passion of mine, and over time, I’ve learned that coaching is my purpose. The sport itself is probably the most intrinsic of all, but to me, it’s the lessons you learn along the track and field journey that make it all so worthwhile. I’ve learned that it’s not about the times, the records, the wins, or the accolades. This sport is a vehicle that helps curate the holistic development of young student athletes. I believe that if we pay attention to the finite details, how we respond to adversity, and who we show up as every day, will in turn represent the person we are called to be. I focus more on the losses than I do the wins, and make sure we are gifting young student athletes with the requisite tools to be successful members of society post athletics.
This philosophy has shown me that as long as you pay attention to the details and support athletes with wisdom and curiosity, success will follow. A coach must provide tools for navigating the curves of life both on and off the track. That is how we Chase Greatness. That is the gift of being a Head Coach. I believe that the skill set I’ve acquired over the years makes me the perfect candidate for any program looking to be a haven for the holistic development of young student athletes and to win and compete at the highest level. People first will always yield a winning result. That is how we Chase Greatness.
