As a Veteran Service Officer, I interview veterans and their dependents to assess their needs and eligibility for various benefits and services. Provide information and guidance on available benefits, including disability compensation, healthcare, education, and housing programs. Assist clients in completing application forms and gathering necessary documentation. Advocate on behalf of veterans to resolve issues and navigate complex bureaucratic processes. Prepare and submit claims for veterans benefits to the appropriate government agencies. Monitor the progress of claims, follow up with agencies, and ensure timely processing. Assist veterans in appealing denied claims, if necessary. Conduct outreach activiies to infom veterans and their families about available services and benefits. Maintain up to date knowledge of changes in veterans laws and regulations. Maintain accurate and confidential client records. Track and document the status of claims and services provided. Prepare reports on caseload and outcomes as required by the county. Collaborate with other Veteran Service Officers, government agencies, veterans service organizations, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for veterans. Stay informed about local resources and refer veterans to appropriate services, such as mental health counseling or job placement programs. I have excellent communication skills in which I answer and return many phone calls to make convenience to elderly and disabled veterans. I schedule veterans for doctor appointments, order medication, and set up C & P exams. I check clients into the office to ensure that all veterans are welcomed as well as ensuring that we have met their needs as they are checked out. When a veteran has a discrepancy in a hospital or doctor bill, I contact insurance company as well as community care with the VA. Always assuring the veteran not to worry that the bill will be settled. Many office equipment is used daily such as Fax, email, QuickSubmit, and snail mail. Scanning records is a must with all paper records to ensure security and locating.

Additional Information

I am very active in my church. I serve as a Sunday School Teacher at Rocky Springs Baptist Church. I also participate in

the choir. As Treasurer, I have served the church 11 years.

Collettsville Ruritan- I have been a member of this community based club since 2004. I serve as chaplain in all events by

leading our club in prayer. I also am there in time for needs of death or unfortunate circumstances. I currently serve chairman

on the Citizenship and Patriotism. We are now erecting a monument at the local community baseball park to honor all

veterans in each branch of service.
