The Clinical Specialist (CLS) is a registered nurse who is responsible for screening clinical applicants before allowing them to gain access to the Medely professional platform. As a CLS reporting directly to Clinical Specialist, Manager, I utilize my industry expertise to carefully and efficiently review resumes, conduct verbal and written screens, and enable the professionals to complete Medely jobs. This role ensures that Medely has a steady supply of highly qualified healthcare professionals.

Duties include but not limited to:
* Conduct written and verbal screens to assess the clinical competency of healthcare professionals who wish to access the Medely platform
* Review resumes and other application details
* Ensure that approved applicants are set up for success so that they quickly begin to complete jobs on the platform
* Share enthusiasm for Medely with the applicants that I connect with each day
* Document details related to the screens and applications in Medely's internal applicant tracking system
* Effectively manage my time to ensure I am qualifying a high volume of applicants daily
* Contribute to projects related to the Clinical Operations Department and Medely's key business objectives as needed
* Establish and maintain proficiency in Medely's internal and external product
* Ensure adherence to established quality metrics and standards to consistently deliver high quality work
* Proactively engage in and contribute to a robust feedback loop, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and collaboration with the team
* Play a key role in supporting research and benchmarking activities, providing valuable insights to inform strategic decision-making and enhance the organization's competitive edge
* Manage a 23 preop bed and 6 PACU bed unit
* Communicate with OR on schedule and make post op appointments and answer phone. Assist surgeons with patient and family and be staff nurse as needed
* Communicate with Surgeons and their office on PREOP/PACU issues daily
* RN and Tech staffing for PREOP/PACU according to patient census, sick staff (call-ins), and vacation request (daily)
* Staff meetings monthly and as needed: organize and run them; resolve issues discussed in meetings
* Yearly performance evaluations on PREOP/PACU staff
* Interview staff for hiring
* Prepare the unit and staff for surveys
* Daily staff issues (missed punches on time, uniform guidelines, documentation, quality care, safety issues
* Assist nursing students - assign them to patients after okaying with surgeon, answer questions, guide them through the day
* EPIC (electronic medical record) issues (equipment/reporting/resolving)
* Yearly unit competencies
* Available by personal phone 24/7 for staffing issues, call ins, patient updates, issues for upcoming day or building issues (ex. plumbing)
* Manage time for employees: approve vacation, fix time, monitor overtime, etc.
* Online ordering of nourishments for the facility for patients via US Food
* Compliance rounds monthly (check that they are done) -unit rounds to stay in compliance with OSHA, Infection Prevention, MSDH, and CMS
* Attend Forrest and Lamar County Coalition Emergency Operations/Preparedness meetings and assist with Emergency Operations Plan
* Review Policies and Procedures and update as needed after Board approval
* Monitor unit equipment issues and check for yearly preventative maintenance
* Check back up system for network outage weekly and conduct utilization of it when network is down
