I worked an evening shift 2 pm to 11 pm. I processed general merchandise claims every evening. I also gathered all returned merchandise for gm and put them back in proper places. I zoned gm and grocery departments nightly, making all product front facing, and taking all inappropriately placed merchandise off shelves and returned them to their place. I also adapted my schedule at least once a month to an overnight 10 pm to 7 am schedule in order to help my supervisors with seasonal resets.
I worked a 7am to 4 pm shift as a hardlines associate. My main focus was the toys and sporting goods departments. My daily tasks included price changes, label changes, organizing clearance, gun sales, administering fishing and hunting licenses, stocking all Gm departments, and checking out customers in garden center. I, along with no more than two other associates handled freight of all departments, often having to help with grocery freight as well. We were also in charge of labeling and binning any extra freight. I was in charge of weekly inventory checks of the bins to improve count quality. I was also in charge of changing aisle locations for island mods weekly, and also marking down outdoor plants weekly. I went overnight multiple times to help the seasonal team lead with seasonal resets, and also help the hardlines team lead with the seasonal toy resets. During those times our responsibilities were to condense any old merchandise, mark down old merchandise, set shelves, change aisle locations, and put out new freight. During these times I worked many 15 hour shifts or more, coming in early and staying much later. For a three month time period I acted as a stand in team lead for hardlines.
