I have always loved animals my whole life. I currently own a cat, a big Rottweiler, and 11 horses. I am a single mom of two small kids, a veteran, a small business owner, and I own property in Jamul. I love pathology and figuring out problems. I have worked at several veterinary hospitals, but I don't remember what they were called. The one I did remember was where I got some amazing experiences with diagnostics and surgery. When I first got hired, they had a Boxer who was only a year and a half that was put through exploratory surgery as they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. They did all of their diagnostics in-house. He had an intermittent fever that would go as high as 105 degrees and so had to stay in the hospital. I asked if they had ever done a blood slide, and they hadn't. I got permission to run another panel and I did the blood slide. I looked at the slide and I thought that the dyes must be very dirty as there was gunk everywhere. I cleaned out the jars and poured fresh clean dye and the gunk was still there. I recalled a parasite called Hemobartonella that looks just like this. I told the vet what I found and the antibiotic to clear this was Doxycycline. She confirmed what I had said and after two months of Doxy, the dog was fine.
I am a single mom of two small children taking care of their every needs.
I held a security clearance and was responsible for maintaining communication systems on Navy ships.
I love diagnostics, surgery, drug calculations, sample collection, running the lab, looking at disease under the microscope, blood draw, catheter placements, etc
I previously held a RVT, which I am happy to acquire again if needed.
