As a pre-award specialist, I support SDSU faculty and research teams in securing external funding through proposal development, budgeting, and compliance coordination. I collaborate across departments to ensure high-quality, timely submissions that align with sponsor and institutional requirements.
• Developed and reviewed grant budgets and required documentation for federal, state, and private funding opportunities.
• Interpreted complex FOAs and provided strategic guidance to PIs during proposal planning and submission.
• Ensured compliance with SDSURF grant administration policies.
• Communicated proactively with investigators to resolve issues and provide tailored support throughout the pre-award lifecycle.
• Managed CRM database, including trouble shooting, maintenance, reports and generating reports.
• Developed a small portfolio of individual donors under $100 and corporate donors over $1K.
• Managed event preparation and coordinated with volunteer manager to set up volunteer shifts.
• Coordinated all development in-house mailings for San Diego Blood Bank financial donors, including gift renewals, appeals, tax letters, and all other specific mailings.
• Researched potential grants and potential fundraising opportunities.
• Provided ongoing support to relationship managers on prospect qualification, pipeline development, and other key development activities, with occasional support for other frontline fundraisers.
