Work History

Manager of Assessment

6 Years 2 Months
Impact Public Schools | 08.2020 - Current
  • Currently, as Manager of Assessment, I direct all assessment operations, including the logistics, administration, and security of State, local, and standardized testing programs, while ensuring full compliance with all State and Federal accountability regulations. Throughout the school year I lead, develop, and implement assessment frameworks to enhance student learning outcomes. I collaborate with team members for data analysis and interpretation of assessment results to identify student learning gaps, inform instructional strategies, and drive continuous improvement across teaching and learning in our organization. Furthermore, I consult with school leaders, design, and facilitate professional development sessions for staff on data utilization and assessment best practices, and manage all assessment platforms and data systems (e.g. Illuminate DnA) for required federal, state, and district reporting. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Impact Public Schools opened a new schools site, Impact | Salish Sea Elementary School, currently located in South Seattle. I successfully navigated through learning a new organization, a new grade level, new curriculum, and teaching first graders how to read online, as well as supported our move back into the physical classroom. My experience in this role highlights my expansive experience in K-12 education, as well as my tenacity, adaptability, ingenuity, and deep dedication for rigorous literacy education.

Site Director

7 Years
Amethod Public Schools | 06.2013 - 06.2020
  • As Site Director of the elementary school, Benito Juarez Elementary School and one of the organization's middle school sites, Richmond Charter Middle Academy, I led the instructional and operational logistics through the unprecedented time of COVID-19. Prior to the coming of the pandemic, and eventual move to remote learning, I fostered a positive and inclusive school environment and ensured compliance with all state and federal education regulations across both school sites. Prior to my role as Site Director, I was the Dean of Instruction at Oakland Charter High School, one of the high schools in the charter organization. I provided instructional leadership to teaching staff, ensuring rigorous instruction and driving overall academic effectiveness by conducting regular coaching, and delivering timely, relevant feedback for professional growth. I also designed and executed professional development, focusing on data interpretation, curricular mapping, and research-based instructional best practices. With the other members of the school's and organization's leadership team, I developed and executed campus improvement plans aligned with the organization's mission and vision. Before becoming the Dean of Instruction, I taught AP English Literature and AP English Language to 11th and 12 graders for 3 years.
