• Relief charge nurse on an acute 12 bed unit for adults 45 and older who are suffering from acute symptoms associated with a major mental health illness.
• Establish priorities and assign patient care responsibilities to staff based on acuity and experience, enhancing team effectiveness.
• Facilitate patient admissions and discharges in a timely manner.
• Transcribe doctor’s orders, review charts and administer medications and treatments.
• Assist in substance abuse treatment, education and counseling.
• Provide psychological support and education to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care strategies for diverse patient populations.
• Monitor patient vital signs, identifying changes in condition and escalating concerns to medical teams.

• Perform various assessments on women throughout different stages of pregnancy.
• Triage incoming calls and patients upon arrival to the unit.
• Identify and manage gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, multiple fetuses and other high-risk obstetrical conditions.
• Perform non-stress tests and interpret fetal heart monitors.
• Work alongside physicians to assist with labor and delivery and to coach and assist the mother throughout the process.
• Provide post-delivery care to mother and care for the newborn from the time of birth and throughout the stay.
• Educate patients on a variety of material including how to take care of themselves during pregnancy/ post-delivery, breastfeeding, proper use of medications and caring for their new infant.
• Address patient concerns and consult with physicians to provide accurate information.
• Monitor patient vital signs, initiate IV therapy, administer medications and perform treatments per facility policy assuring appropriate documentation.

• Provided various types of support for a diverse population of clientele and assisted them with their ADL’s including feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, catheter care and personal hygiene on long-term care and short-term rehabilitation units.
• Measured and recorded vital signs, weights, and intake/ output.
• Implemented nursing care plans and documented care provided to clients.
• Administered colostomy and tracheostomy care, ensuring client safety and adherence to health protocols.
