All the work listed I did in children's ministry was volunteer. I was eventually paid for working at the preschool. All the above was simply me following God's will. It's amazing at the things God can do with a clean and willing vessel!
My marriage ended in 2012. I closed the preschool and returned to Englewood Baptist with my son and his family. I was told by the children's leaders that I needed to heal from my broken marriage and I shouldn't start back working with children. What I really needed was to serve God by using the gifts He'd given me. Then my son was associate pastor and now pastor, so I've worried satan would use me
working in church to somehow hurt him. We both agree that since we now have a board of Godly men to oversee church problems that I should start back being used of God. I'm so excited at the thought of serving Him by working with children again! I do understand the process and I accept whatever the board decides. I ask you to please pray carefully because I already feel the Holy Spirit stirring me up and I'm ready to start planning and helping our church to grow! Thanks and God Bless!
I felt that starting a preschool and daycare would help our church attendance, so I started Kingdom Kids Academy. I advertised, made some renovations to our Children's Ministry which was downstairs, hired a teacher for the babies. I ran it, but also taught 3, 4 and 5 year olds every morning. Some families joined our church that had children in our preschool, but not as many as I'd hoped. We had grown to 4 to 5 teachers including me and 30 children by December of 2012.
