Work History

Machine Operator

R.R. Donnelley
06.2018 - Current

* In June 2018 - I started working at RRD as an assembler through a temp agency called Kelly Servies.

* In April 2019 - Assembler through RRD

* In February 2020 - Line Lead and Still used as a lead when needed

* In October 2021 -Machine Operator

As an assembler, I was trained to put kits together while looking out for quality, hitting hourly goal, wearing the proper P.E.E., working around equipments depending on the lines and working as a team. I was trained to use pallet jacks and electric pallet jacks like a walkie.

We would assemble the product by putting it together, weighing it on the scale, and packing it. I was crossed trained into multiple departments throughout the plant.

Finishing orders, by counting the left over product, writing the new qty on the product description that goes to inventory, sweeping, taking out garbage, wiping tables down and doing a line clear making sure that no product was left behind before the lead/coordinator/supervisor set up a new order on that line.

As a Line Lead, I learned how to verify the product, fill out paper work, computer work/programs, setting up orders, finishing orders, running lines, change tape in tapers, ribbon and label changes, reprints on labels, training the assemblers and making sure the kits are built correctly to what our costumers want.

I help my team/line out by making sure they have what they need, taking their spots if they need a drink or/bathroom breaks, if they are struggling than I try to help them out with little tips to help them be more efficient and help them grow as well.

As a Machine Operator, It's very similar to a Line Lead at RRD.

I have been trained to verify the product, fill out paper work, computer work/programs, setting up orders, finishing orders, running lines, ribbon and label changes, changing tape, film change (plastic), and training the assemblers.

I also learned multiple machines and how to start them, stop them, e-stops, lock out tag out, and proper procedures.

I was trained if minor issues happen, I can fix them but if I can't I call the tech/maintenance to fix them problem. I also call the tech/ maintenance if i know whats wrong and can't fix the issue small or big so they can fix the issue.

Loading up the machines with product and taking it out after orders are completed. changing qty on the description paper.

Blowing out the machine with an air compressor when orders are finished. Assemblers and Machine Operators are trained on blowing out the machines.
